Everyone sells information but there is no structure to nurture merit, accountability & growth within a thriving guitar community. Miago is not another digital course you bought on sale and didn’t complete. It is a platform to support, encourage and inspire your music journey on the guitar through its myriad facets; mechanically, intellectually and psychologically. Many of us may have some solid ideas about how to improve specific skills on the guitar but the ‘what‘ alone will not suffice. We need the ‘how’.

That’s why Miago was created.

We’re collectively too distracted to have a continuous studying momentum to facilitate meaningful progress. Somewhere in the digital cloud is all the information we’ll ever need but we can’t seem to organise a coherent model of understanding and technical command aimed towards our short and long term goals.

This is where the dedicated Miago staff comes in. First and foremost, we are all students first (mentally, that is) that have worked in music professionally for decades. We truly care about your progress from week to week and if you are willing to show up for yourself, your musical goals are going to be fulfilled, and as a result you will unravel a great inner strength that was there, latent perhaps, all along. We don’t promise any “7 or 10 day mastery” of anything. That is a joke and if you’re still reading, you know this. We’re in this for the long haul. We thrive on helping facilitate musical transformations for dedicated players.

We are not tailored for beginners, but as an intermediate and advanced player, you will naturally develop a beginner’s mindset as our study unfolds. We believe that embracing opposite values as complimentary is one of the keys to lasting growth on the guitar (and in life).

All this requires the increasingly scarce resource which is live human presence. See, we could have just built our state of the art digital platform, sold you beautifully presented and continuously updated guitar pedagogic content, and be done with it. But no, we understand that the missing ingredient is empowerment through human connection and community. We want to promote more musical collaborations around the world, not necessarily aimed towards the production of another 80’s inspired fusion track (not that there is anything wrong with that), but more towards the old school approach of exploring genuine musical curiosity, wonderment and awe from the infinite ocean that is music. 

That’s why we have regular live video sessions. Our staff has a vast knowledge of music and it’s lineage (the chronological tree of influences). Moreover, we will have surprise guest teachers regularly to shake things up (some of them you will know) .We’re actually getting into the nitty gritty of practice routines, ear training, transcriptions, music history to build a full repertoire for the gigging musician. We encourage a general spirit of musical exploration.
