Blueprint to Minor Blues Course

Blueprint to Minor Blues is designed for guitar players who want to take their minor blues playing from a somewhat rocky approach toward a deeper jazz sound. The course connects walking bass, chord movement, comping, scale choices, cadences and soloing vocabulary into a clear framework, helping you build both, harmonic awareness and the practical language needed to play minor blues with more confidence, direction and stylistic control.

What you will learn

You will learn how to approach the minor blues through harmonic overview, shell voicings, Freddie Green-style quarter-note comping, static chord walkups, and walking bass lines in different keys. The course also covers important sounds such as Lydian dominant cadences, V7alt movement, minor scale options, intervallic harmonization, Barry Harris sixth diminished concepts, turnaround variations, bebop scales, enclosures, breakdowns and examples of phrasing by the great Sonny Stitt and John Coltrane, and melodic minor modes for minor ii–V–i movement. You will also see these ideas demonstrated through different keys to assure you can connect the concepts directly to musical application in any musical situation.
